Troubleshooting

The link is open but the radio isn’t sending anything.

  • Check the port the phone uses (SYS › Hardware: USB VCP, or the AUX port) is set to Telemetry Mirror or LUA.
  • If it’s set to LUA, the wzfm Special Function must be enabled with an ON trigger.
  • Over USB, make sure you picked USB Serial (VCP) on the radio, not storage or joystick.

Mode says Telemetry Mirror, but I installed the bridge

Section titled “Mode says Telemetry Mirror, but I installed the bridge”

The radio is sending plain telemetry, so the port is still set to Telemetry Mirror. Set it to LUA and reconnect.

Turn the wzfm Special Function off, then open SYS › Tools › Wizzo diagnostics on the radio. It runs the bridge itself and shows the Lua version, any script error, and how many bytes went to and from the phone. If bytes are going out but Wizzo sees nothing, the port isn’t set to LUA.

If the tool shows up without a name, or won’t open, the script files on the card are damaged. Reinstall them with the Bridge wizard, or by hand.

Every checklist item on the FOLLOW tab has to be green. The usual culprits:

  • Not a multirotor: follow-me is blocked on other craft types.
  • POSHOLD or GCS NAV not active: flip the switch you assigned them to.
  • Phone GPS: wait for a better fix, or raise the limit in Setup › Follow-me.

Maps and elevation data need a connection the first time. Open the map, and use Download 6 km around me in Setup › Terrain, while you still have signal.

Wizzo decodes ExpressLRS’s signed RSSI values. If the numbers still look off, check your receiver’s telemetry ratio isn’t set too low.
